That's a great question because there's a zillion answers.

Think of an activity (walking) and combine that activity in a way (sponsorships) in which everyone can participate, and your group can raise money.

For example, the most popular SuperThon is a walkathon or Jog/Walk-A-Thon.  Walks are so popular because no one needs any special skills or equipment -- anyone can do it and it doesn't take a lot of work.

Take something as simple as a walkathon and combine that with our powerful SuperThon Program, and you now have a fun, money-making fundraising machine.

A couple weeks prior to the walkathon, we conduct an awesome "pep rally."  For the next few weeks, everyone is busy asking people to sponsor them for so much money for each lap they walk (e.g..: 25¢ per lap), or a sponsor makes a flat pledge (e.g.: $10).

The challenge for everyone is to sign-up as many sponsors as possible.

For schools, our walkathons are held on a school day during school time, and it lasts about an hour.   Participants walk/jog as many laps as they can.  It's not a race or a contest.   Music keeps everyone walking, singing and laughing.

After the walkathon, we (CompuThon) jump on the data processing.  It takes us about 5 to 7 days to input accurately all the sponsor information and send that sponsor a special "thank you" letter (a bill) telling that sponsor how well their participant did and for how much the sponsor's pledge is.
